Reporting an error

If you believe any story on ProfessorN.in contains a factual error - Statistics, date, name or attribution - email Editor@professorn.in with the article link and a description of the issue. Corrections are reviewed and implemented if found appropriate. However, no complaints are entertained on the judgement or opinion of the author.

How a correction is made

A factual error is fixed in the article text, and a dated correction note is added stating what was changed and why - not silently edited. For a significant factual error, the note appears at the top of the piece; for a minor one (a typo, a misspelled name) at the bottom.

Corrections vs. updates

A correction fixes something that was wrong. An update adds new information to a still-developing story, or reflects a genuine change in the author's analysis as events unfold. These are marked as updates, not corrections. The updates donot indicate an error in the original story.

Opinion and analysis

We at ProfessorN.in publish analysis, commentary, not just factual reporting. Disagreement with an interpretation or conclusion is not, by itself, a factual error. - but if you believe an argument rests on a factual mistake, that's exactly what this policy is for.
